J.J. Cully – Organist & Music Director
Music has always played an integral role in worship in the Episcopal Church and St. Paul’s is no exception. We are blessed to have a vintage Durner tracker organ, a grand piano, and a dedicated choir which contributes music during services throughout the year. Music is included in our 9:30 a.m. Holy Eucharist service and during important seasons and events at St. Paul’s.
J.J has been a musician from a young age. At 15 she wanted to
introduce more contemporary music into the church service she attended, so
she learned guitar and started a folk group. As an ‘older’ person, J.J. went
back to university with the intention of getting a Music Education
degree so she could teach and create music for God. J.J. has been an
accompanist, cantor, and music director in Methodist and Catholic
Churches.
J.J. grew up in the Skagit Valley. She married her high school sweetheart; they
have three children and 5 grandchildren. Her day job is an elementary
music specialist in the Lakewood School District (little Lakewood by
Smokey Point).
“If you are interested in singing or playing an instrument, I encourage
you to contact me to join the St. Paul’s music ministry.”
